Top 4 Things to Do in Barcelona On A Short Trip

Barcelona is a beautiful city full of excitement around every corner. It was founded as a Roman city in the Middle Ages and has yet to stop growing since its birth. This city is a carnival with full of life young and old perfectly bonded. You can not only see the new and old bonding throughout the city through architecture but also through the innovation in the technology used throughout the city. The following things to do in my humble opinion highlight everything the city is about. If you ever do get the chance to go to Barcelona I hope you get to stay for at least a week but if you are caught in a short trip here is the highlights I suggest!

  1. Sagrada Familia

If you go to Barcelona you have to go to Sagrada Familia. It is breathtaking even though it isn’t completely done yet. Do not let that be a reason to not go! Take a tour and see Gaudí’s beautiful architecture. The church is supposed to symbolize life with Christ in the middle of it. Even if you aren’t religious Gaudi’s architecture is something everyone can appreciate. If you do want to go and see Sagrada Familia I do suggest buying tickets beforehand online to skip the line.

  1. Park Güell

This park is another one of Gaudí’s beautiful work left unfinished. It was originally planned as a neighborhood. You can even see some of the houses that are now used as gift shops and cafeterias for the park goers. The architecture of the park is, of course, unreal on the level of awe, but it also gives a spectacular view of Barcelona. You have to have a ticket to enter in the park and they only let so many people in at a time so I would suggest planning a little bit ahead and buying tickets to skip the line and be sure you are able to get in the park in the time you have allotted.

  1. La Rambla

La Rambla is a street filled with all the sights and shopping you can stand! There is always something going on down this street. From festivals to beautiful fruit stands La Rambla never disappoints. Also, this is something that can be enjoyed for free at any time of the day.

  1. La Barceloneta

The coolest neighborhood that makes you feel like a local. It’s on the beach so bring your swimsuit and make a day of it if you can. If not, it has amazing tapa bars with views of the Balearic Sea that can never be rivaled. You can also never go wrong with just a stroll down the beach.
