Lausanne, Switzerland was by far the most naturesque country. There were mountains and trees surrounding us at every point. The town was super cute too. The buildings were old and fairytale-like. The streets were also hilly especially as you get closer to Lake Geneva. That is where my group and I decided to go down and spend the day.
My group and I took the train from the hotel down to the lake. It was a really short ride. When we arrived the first thing I noticed was how exotic the trees were. I have never seen anything quite like it! They were really wide and had thick branches going in every direction with leaves on the ends. They were lining the streets and sidewalks and made the walk super neat.
We made our way to the lake and the view was simply indescribable. There were mountains lining the horizon and the water was a deep ocean blue color. We took a bunch of pictures by the lake and had a lot of fun admiring the view together.
We continued our walk along the water and noticed a group of people standing at the edge of the dock looking at the water. We went over to see what they were looking at and there was a group of swans just floating in the water together. They were so big and graceful when they swam in the lake I wanted to pet them. But out on land, they were not so nice and friendly. Some even hissed as we passed by!
There were a lot of boats on the dock and we joked about taking one out for a ride. We laughed and walked away when a man stopped us and offered to give us a ride on his boat. He said he overheard our conversation and would give us the ultimate tour of Lake Geneva. So we got in his boat and took off.
The boat ride was one of my purest memories of my Europe trip. We played music, sang, and laughed, as we made memories and rode around the lake. It was a great way to relax with everyone too since we did a lot of walking throughout the day. The boat driver also had a boat dog named Cody. Cody was so excited for all the love and attention we game him. That was the cherry on top of our experience. After the boat ride, we got dinner at a local sushi restaurant and had ice cream after as we made our way back to the hotel.
