Short Summary of Each Company Visit-IBS
US Embassy: Dennis Simons was the top executive that spoke to our group for IBS. It was here that we learned about China’s trends, goals for the economy, their transformation of the economy, the outbound investment, their five year plan, environmental technology, as well as travel and tourism, etc.
EY: Michelle Yen was the top executive from the company Ernest and Young that spoke to our group. EY is considered one of the Big Four accounting firms. EY has recently shifted its historical business focus towards consulting. In particular, EY advanced its market presence in strategic consulting and entered into direct competition with what has been a traditional field of “Big Three” companies, namely Bain, McKinsey and BCG. By a series of acquisitions and shift of market focus, EY expanded its market share in areas including operations services consulting, strategy services consulting, HR services consulting, financial services consulting & technology services consulting.
OSIsoft: Anne Moore was the top executive that spoke to our group. OSIsoft delivers the PI System, the industry standard in enterprise infrastructure, for management of real-time data and events. With installations in 107 countries spanning the globe, the OSIsoft PI System is used in manufacturing, energy, utilities, life sciences, data centers, facilities, and the process industries.
UPS: Multiple executives spoke with us, we learned about both domestic and international package, the supply chain and freight, Personnel structure, finances, as well as their expansion. Most deliveries g out to the US from China.
Grant Thornton: Dr. Tim Klatte was the top executive that spoke to our group. Grant Thornton helps dynamic organisations around the world unlock their potential for growth, as they check all companies advisory, assurance and tax.
