Being an Artificial Intelligence software company, it wasn’t about marketing their software, but selling it to businesses for data security problems.
BMW Dingolfing
At BMW Dingolfing we toured the factory plant and got to see how their assembly line works and how their cars are made. They employ 17,500 workers and they switch jobs every week working on different parts of the car like the model, paint, and test drive.
BioM Biotech Cluster Development GmbH
At BioM, we met with Georg Kääb, Managing Director, and learned about the development of innovative therapeutics and diagnostics, in particular for personalized healthcare. They manage a broad range of training sessions, events, and network meetings.
Innsbruck Tourism Board
The Innsbruck Tourism Board came to our hotel and Peter Unsinn, Tourism Board’s marketing manager, gave a presentation on how they market Innsbruck and the different activities that tourists can participate in like paragliding, bungee jumping, mountain biking, white water rafting, etc.
Swarovski Crystal
At Swarovski Crystal, we met with Roberto Arena who gave a presentation on the history of Swarovski, the designs and manufacturing of the crystals, and all the different products like jewelry, lighting, etc. Then, Simon Kolb, the Manager of Swarovski’s Waterschool program, gave us a presentation on working together to provide safe water to communities.
Riedel Glassworks
At Riedel Glassworks in Kufstein we got to see the master craftsmen blowing glass in a very hot room and went through an interactive tour on the five senses. We learned about the manufacturing and how to properly hold a wine glass.
Frantoi Redoro Olive Oil producer
At Frantoi Redoro, we walked around the factory and learned about the challenges of marketing their worth to customers. They make 2 million bottles of olive oil each year, and they are currently trying to get to Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods. We were able to buy bottles at their shop after.
Cantina Valpantena Winery
At the Cantina Valpantena Winery, we met with Samantha Orlandi and learned about their commitment and care for the whole production cycle. They are devoted to family tradition and patience. We taste tested about 4 different wines and were able to purchase their wine after.
Cailler Chocolate Plant
At the Cailler Chocolate Plant we went on a walking tour of the factory and learned how the chocolate is made, the history of the factory, and tasted a variety of different chocolates. We also could purchase the chocolate in their shop after the tour.
World Trade Organization in Geneva
At the World Trade Organization, we met with the Head of Media, Daniel Pruzin, and learned about the United States involvement and how we are the most active member both as the complainant and the respondent. We also learned that trade recovered quickly after the 2007 recession because of the World Trade Organization rules that were in place.
Keolis Transportation
At Keolis we got a presentation from their Director of International Communication and Public Affairs, Executive Director of Marketing, Director of Group Strategic Plans, and the Director of New Mobility Services. Keolis not only provides bus transportation that we used for the trip, but also railways, trolley buses, tramways, etc. Keolis uses key performance indicators to improve and modify their ways. We also learned about their plans for self-driving cars in the future.
Hard Rock Café
At Hard Rock Café, we met with Liam Fahey, the Assistant General Manager, and learned about the making/history of Hard Rock and the challenges of marketing the brand in different countries.
Lloyd’s of London Insurance Market
At Lloyd’s of London, we met with Peter Fletcher and learned that Lloyd’s is not a company, but more of an institution that brokers can meet with underwriters to insure whichever risk they wish. 50% of Lloyd’s business comes from North America. We went on a tour around the building and got to see the operational room with all the different insurance companies.
