So as I said in the last post, yesterday evening, my roommate and I went inside the Notre Dame in the evening. Additionally, we went to view the Eiffel Tower at night! It was amazing to see the tower light up and see the Christmas decorations!! I can’t express how cool the view was!
Now it’s time to talk business! Today, our group went to see the headquarters of 3M France. First, we listened to a presentation followed by PowerPoint which discussed the overall background of the company, marketing strategy, and company philosophy. In all, 3M is a firm that works internationally a cross 70 countries plus 46 platforms. As stated by the firm, the company’s market orientation is one that is based on their personal concept innovation and collaboration. The explanation of showing how this was done was unique since they placed most of their product lines (within the PowerPoint) in a way which looked liked a periodic table, but it obviously was not the periodic table. With that, the firm operates in five markets, which involve consumers, electric/energy, health care, industrial products, and safety orientation.
As they said, since it’s an international business, 3M works to market tangible products which are based on a philosophy of leadership and growth. I will tell you what, I learned at lot! After the presentation, we got an in depth tour around the building of how their products work within the various industries they control and what they produce for those sectors in particular.
This evening, we are planning to go on the boat tour on the Seine as well as check out some other important monuments. Tomorrow we have another seminar and some of us will be going to the Moulin Rouge.
So keep a look out for more photos! =)
