Global Learning Opportunities Code of Conduct

  1. The rules of behavior for your university apply and extend to your behavior while participating in the GLO program, no different than if you were on campus.
  2. Students are expected to be prepared for every academic session.
  3. Students are expected to be on time for every company visit and associated sessions.
  4. Students are expected to dress professionally (Such as a suit and tie, etc.) for all company visits and remain attentive during all sessions.
  5. By seeking to participate in a GLO program, you are accepting responsibility to monitor your own behavior.
  6. You are expected to follow local rules and regulations as well as GLO staff instruction regarding pandemic hygiene, such as wearing masks properly.
  7. Chewing gum, tobacco, smokeless tobacco or Vaping are not allowed in any official GLO session.
  8. Treat all company executives/presenters/hosts/guides with respect and give full attention during all activity.
  9. Your behavior in the hotels should reflect your participation in a professional program.
  10. Your program includes a shared, twin-bedded room in a quality hotel. For safety reasons, no one is allowed to enter your room that is not affiliated with the GLO program or the hotel staff. This includes, but is not limited to, persons you may meet during your free time-day or night, any friends or family visiting from home, etc.
  11. Theft of any item from a hotel (including towels, pillows or blankets) is theft, and as such is not tolerated.
  12. Unlawful narcotics, drugs, drug paraphernalia will not be tolerated. Possession or use is an infraction of this policy.

PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS OF THE CODE OF CONDUCT

  1. Fines will be established and assessed by GLO faculty on each program for violations of Provision III (On time arrival for activities). The faculty leaders will work as a team to review any possible infractions.
  2. Violations of Code provisions will affect your overall grade.
  3. Serious violations of the Code of Conducts put one at risk of being expelled from the program.
  4. Violation of provisions IX, X or XI of the code of conduct may be punishable by immediate expulsion from the program.
  5. Violation of provisions IX, X or XI of the code of conduct may be punishable by immediate expulsion from the program.
  6. Any student who is expelled from the program for code of conduct violations will be required to arrange their own transportation back home and will not be allowed to physically stay with the group after their expulsion. The overall cost of an expulsion can be substantial and will be born directly by the offending student.
