paragliding

Before going on the trip, I knew that we would be meeting with the Innsbruck Tourism Board and we could choose to sign up for a variety of activities like bungee jumping, paragliding, mountain biking, etc. I have never participated in anything like this before and I knew I wanted to while abroad. I decided I wanted to paraglide, and I was super excited!

JUMPING OFF A MOUNTAIN!
When you are all suited up and ready about 4-5 people from your group will ride in a cable car up to the mountain. The instructors have been doing this for years and make you feel super comfortable, there was never a time where I thought about backing out. When you meet your instructor, you will get buckled up and they will countdown for you to run and jump! You will be in the air for about 15-20 minutes, and if you are comfortable with it, your instructor can do tricks while flying around. The view when you are in the air is breathtaking, and you will want to do it again!

TIPS IF YOU PARAGLIDE:
• I get motion sickness pretty quickly, so I wore motion sickness armbands to ease the ride. It definitely helped and I felt fine the entire time
• Even though they provide us with a suit to wear, I recommend wearing joggers/leggings, long sleeved shirt, anything to keep you warm. It was chilly when we went and you will be in snow. Just check the weather before you jump
• While we were waiting for others to jump, we played around in the Landeplatz and took really cute pictures, so I recommend bringing your phone
• I had an adapter for SD cards that you can plug into your phone so I was able to get the all footage on to my phone as soon as we were done, and for everyone else to use
