Day Four: Paris

Today was a long day! We went to watch a presentation that was conducted by Professor Graham Brown of PCC. There, he discussed the variations of culture which make the European Union. To add further he discussed, the variations of Anglo-Saxon culture and Latin based culture and how each approach professional circumstances. In all, I found the presentation to be very eye opening because of the different perspectives presented.

Here we are, traveling to Professor Brown’s locations, since there was a lot of walking and traveling for the following seminars:

Afterwords, we took somewhat of a long ride on the metro and we headed over to Esso headquarters (international trade name for ExonMobil). Prior to that, we had a quick lunch, which is kind of hard to do in Paris, as we found out!

Sorry, we really weren’t allowed to take pictures inside the facility due to security purposes, so there really is not much content of the activity within the building!! However, we then received a presentation about the firm’s background as well as how they approach the energy business. One interesting fact I learned relates to the fact that when in marketing, especially for an energy company, firms have to come up with very subtle approaches to promoting their product lines because of the perspectives on energy and the how it reacts to the environment and so on. As they stated, this aspect particularly relates well to French culture. To add, they gave forth a researched projection of what they believe the energy industry will look like by the time of 2040. From my understanding, they believe the need for their energy products will increase.

Right now, I’m getting ready to go to the Moulin Rouge! Then tomorrow I will be taking a train to London! These past couple of days have been a major adventure!!!

Update of the Moulin Rouge:

It was a long night, and note that the show was amazing!!! I will explain more, but here are some pictures for now!
