Last evening was a blast! I was able to meet others who are taking the seminar with me as well as my research group! As I said in my last post, we also took a deeper tour of the town later that evening, which was awesome as well. Plus, we got even more acquainted with the metro system. I don’t know if I mentioned this, but another person who will be assigned Lloyd of London with Gracie and I is Laura, and we are looking forward to presenting on January 9th, since that is when will be getting a Tour of the Lloyd’s building!
As of today, we had our in depth orientation that was more insightful when concerning the schedule, expectations, contact information etc. We then went on a city tour of Paris on a bus! This was very fun! Some major places we saw were the Arc de Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower, and Notre Dame de Paris. We also saw many other monumental sites, which I would like to see again, especially Jardin du Luxembourg!
With looking at the schedule for tomorrow, it looks like will be taking a tour of 3M France. After that, it looks like we will take a boat of the Seine in the evening!!!
I will keep you posted on additional news!!
Update:
Gracie and I chose to tour Paris later in the evening!! We first went to the Notre Dame which was amazing! Admission was free (I think this was a Sunday….but I am not sure since all Museums are free in Paris on Sundays) but either way, it was really cool! We then had a bite to eat at a little cafe near by and did a combination of walking and metro traveling to the Eiffel Tower! I will tell you what, sitting under the Eiffel Tower is spectacular and pictures do not do it justice!
